While new to many in the Pacific Northwest, this will be the second year beach soccer comes to Seaside, Oregon for the 2011 Seaside Beach Soccer Tournament. Host to the World’s Largest Beach volleyball tournament with over 800 teams and more than 100 courts, Seaside has the experience and expansive beach to host yet another great event. Don’t miss this opportunity to play in the next great craze sweeping the nation.
2011 RULES: Played as a pickup sport on the beach for years, Beach Soccer was created in its current form of rules and regulations in 1992. Beach soccer is a 5 on 5 game played on a field that is 40 yards long and 30 yards wide. Matches last 36 minutes and are split into three twelve-minute periods. Shoes are not allowed, although ankle guards and sand socks are permitted.
Five divisions will compose this year’s tournament (U12, U14, U16, U18, and Adult) Youth must be 12, 14, 16, 18 BEFORE August 1stof this year.There are no restrictions on male/female ratios for Adult Coed Teams. Other standard rules apply and will be available on site or at www.seasidebeachsoccer.com.
Prices are per team. Team play is 5 players per team for each game – and up to 10 players per squad. Team = 4 players and 1 goalkeeper. Unlimited rolling subs per game! Tournament starts at 9AM June 4th, team captains/coaches will meet early on the beach at 8AM.
